Wine Autumn in the Wachau Valley

The best thing in autumn in the Wachau Valley is the serving of wine in the vineyards. There is an opportunity to do this every Saturday in October in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Spitz on the Danube. Winegrowers serve their wines at four different locations. The locations are the Red Gate, the viewpoint on the Setzberg, the Hinterhaus Castle ruins and the 1000 Bucket Mountain.

All four places are particularly beautiful vantage points and are located in the middle of the best vineyards in Spitz. It is therefore wonderful to walk from the Red Gate to the Setzberg and on to the Hinterhaus Castle ruins and finally to the 1000 Eimer Berg on an autumn day and have the opportunity to have a glass of wine in these places.

We have drawn up a map of the four places that shows the best way to get to these bars in the vineyards on foot from the center of Spitz. We have put the whole thing together into a round that begins at the Red Gate and runs over the Setzberg and the ruins of Hinterhaus Castle to the 1000 Bucket Mountain. The conclusion is the bar in the castle in Spitz.
